Grad Party Yard Prep

Grad Party Yard Prep

Congratulations! Your child is all grown up, graduating, and heading off to college. This is a big step for your teenager, and planning a grad party is a lot of work. You have to organize the food, invites, decorations, and more. If you’re holding the party at your home, you also have to worry about cleaning! Here are six things to do before the graduation party that will have your yard looking top-notch for all those pictures and videos you’re sure to be capturing.

  1. Cut back bushes — you’ll be amazed at how a simple trim to your shrubbery will clean up your lawn’s entire appearance!
  2. Clean around fences — using a weed-wacker or leaf blower, clean up the debris along any fences you have to give your lawn a neat and tidy appearance.
  3. Power wash deck, driveway, sidewalks, porch, etc. — power wash anywhere your guests will be walking or mingling while they’re outside
  4. Plant flowers in window boxes and planters — planting flowers in garden areas, window boxes, or planters will give your outdoor grad party an extra pop of color (tip: plant already bloomed flowers if you’re on a time crunch)
  5. Wash the windows — your home will look shiny and beautiful with a quick window wash (tip: wash windows on a cloudy day to prevent streaking)
  6. Reserve tables, chairs, tents — don’t forget to reserve tables, tents, and chairs ahead of time so your guests can have a place to sit, eat, and be out of the sun or rain
